Job Description

The 3D Printing and Prototyping Intern will be responsible for preparing, executing, and maintaining the 3D printing and prototyping processes. This role requires expertise in slicing 3D models, generating G-codes, operating 3D printers, and maintaining accurate records and inventory. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, organized, and a strong team player, ensuring seamless prototyping operations.

Experience: 0-1 Year (Freshers with relevant knowledge can apply)

1. 3D Printing Preparation & Execution:

   • Slice 3D models and generate G-codes using appropriate slicing software (e.g., Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, Cura, or PreForm).

   • Set up, calibrate, and operate 3D printers efficiently.

   • Monitor print jobs and troubleshoot any printing issues.

2. Prototyping & Post-Processing:

   • Handle different types of materials (PLA, ABS, Resin, Wood PLA, etc.) and adjust printer settings accordingly.

   • Perform necessary post-processing tasks such as sanding, painting, or assembly.

   • Ensure the quality of printed prototypes meets design requirements.

3. Inventory & Maintenance:

   • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of materials, filaments, tools, and spare parts.

   • Order supplies when needed and ensure stock levels are optimal.

   • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on 3D printers to ensure smooth operations.

4. Documentation & Reporting:

   • Maintain detailed logs of print jobs, materials used, and any issues encountered.

   • Document changes or modifications made during prototyping.

   • Ensure all necessary records for prototyping are well-organized and accessible.

5. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:

   • Work closely with the product design and engineering teams to refine prototypes.

   • Provide feedback on prototype performance and suggest improvements.

   • Stay updated on new 3D printing technologies, techniques, and materials.

   • Support the team in achieving project deadlines and goals.

6. Workplace Safety & Organization:

   • Follow safety guidelines while handling 3D printers, chemicals, and tools.

   • Keep the workspace clean and organized for efficient operations.

   • Adhere to company policies and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Education: Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Product Design, or related fields.

• Experience: 0-1 year of experience in 3D printing or prototyping (Freshers with relevant knowledge can apply).

• Basic knowledge of slicing software and 3D printing technologies.

• Familiarity with CAD software is a plus.

• Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.

• Good organizational and documentation skills.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
